Kosovo Youth Volunteer Blog by Qendresa

My name is Qendresa Isniqi. I am 14 years old and in the 9th grade. During the wartime I didn’t lose anyone from my immediate family, but my house was burned. I was ten years old when I join the program. I was 13 years old when I became a volunteer. I learned how to play different instruments. Now I teach children, etc. This program helps me to forget the war and become more sociable. It is good because it helps kids not to go in wrong directions and spend their time there in SMF. I’m a volunteer because I love teaching children. I plan to continue volunteering, go on to university, and of course get a job, and have a family.
From Liz: Qendresa is the youngest of 4 children, all of which have been students in our Kosovo program and all of which are still youth volunteers. Her mother is a widow.
