Lemonade for Peace!
Jun 23, 2010
Three of my brother’s children are visiting my mom and I in Arizona. Being with them is one of the best things in my entire world.
When we are together I work late into the night (and often all night) so that we can spend time together during the day. We talk a lot about the foundation and they always want to help. Because I am so worried about our finances right now, that has been the main topic of discussion during this visit.
My 11-year-old niece Sidney decided that she wanted to help raise money for SMF with a lemonade stand after she returns home to South Carolina. So we made a poster together and this is how it turned out:
When I told her I was going to write about this in my blog, she said to write this: “I want to do this because my Aunt Liz has inspired me and I really want to help her foundation.”
My 7-year old nephew liked the idea so much that now he is going to sell Oreos alongside his sister. So we will have LEMONADE FOR PEACE and OREOS FOR PEACE. I think it’s great. Let me know if you’d like a version of this poster that you can personalize and use!
